The staff has been trained on the Preschool Positive Behavioral supports presented by: The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning and Iowa State University. It is a program set up to help promote children’s success building relationships and creating a supportive environment.
We still have a few 3 year old openings for preschool starting in the fall.

April News
In March, the children shared a story called, “Pickle Things” by Mark Brown ,with their families. It is a very silly story! We celebrated a special pickle day. We tasted sweet bread and butter pickles and sour dill pickles. The children voted for their favorite pickle. We also painted on a giant pickle shape. Pickle Day was very fun!
February News
On Sunday January 20th Noah’s Ark Preschool celebrated their 30th year Anniversary.
In between services individuals enjoyed doughnuts, juice, coffee, and good conversation.
At the 11:00 service 47 children sang three songs. One song was a Noah’s Ark song called, “Two by Two”. The children made animal masks, clouds and raindrops and a handprint rainbow. After the service, families, children and church members gathered in the Living Faith Center for cake, punch, and cookies. We had a CD of photographs through the years set to music. It was a wonderful celebration.

December News
The three and four year old classes at Noah’s Ark Preschool celebrated Thanksgiving with 85 parents, grandparents and special friends. It was filled with songs of thanks to God for all the wonderful things we have in our world.
We will end the month of November with a field trip to E.B. Lyons Nature Center. We will read stories about animals getting ready for winter.
Noah’s Ark Preschool will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of our preschool on Sunday, January 20th. The children will sing at the 11:00 a.m. service. Giving Tree
The Noah’s Ark Giving Tree is located in the narthex. On it you will find envelopes for books, art supplies, toys, and scholarships. Thrivent members who make a donation of $50-$400 will be matched by 50 cents for every dollar through the “Giving Plus” Thrivent program. Your donation of $50 will actually be $75! Thank you for your continued support.
November News
In October and November, Jenny Goodno our Teacher/Director is attending a four day course: Positive Behavior Support System through Iowa State University. Jenny is hoping to learn new ways of helping children and teachers cope with challenging behaviors. The field of Early Childhood Development is a career of Life Long Learning.
Noah’s Ark Preschool was the recipient of a fabulous donation of a brand new copy machine. Mike and Susan Steele family gave the copy machine to Noah’s Ark to honor our Director, Jenny Goodno for her 20 plus years of teaching for our school

October News
The children, teachers, and families sang songs and joined in on some movement activities. Pastor Flater played his guitar. It was a fantastic evening.
We have 77 children enrolled for this school year
We begin our school year reading stories about friends, families, and school days.
The four and five year olds will go on their first field trip to the apple orchard.
We are looking forward to a great year!

Each type of flower has it’s own name. Every child and adult received a carnation to take home. It was a good learning experience.
When we returned to the classroom the teachers set up a florist shop with soil, tools for gardening and a seed sorting station. The children could design their own bouquet of silk flowers in styrofoam.
It was a fun extension to our field trip.
